PureVideo System Requirements

Today’s consumers demand a high-definition (HD) home theater experience on their PC. They want superb picture clarity, stutter-free playback and multiple display connectivity options. The best way to achieve this is with NVIDIA® PureVideo™ technology.

In order to experience PureVideo, the following are required:

	Equip your desktop or notebook PC with an NVIDIA® GeForce® 6 or GeForce 7 Series GPU: The NVIDIA GeForce 6 and 7 Series GPUs feature a powerful on-chip video processing core. This dedicated video processing core executes a wide spectrum of video optimization algorithms to deliver incredibly fluid, high-quality video playback.

	NVIDIA® PureVideo™ Decoder: NVIDIA also offers an MPEG-2 decoder that is optimized for PureVideo technology. NVIDIA® PureVideo™ Decoder combines the industry’s highest quality DVD and MPEG-2 playback with rich surround sound and is capable of supporting any Microsoft DirectX 9 compatible graphics product.

	Download the latest NVIDIA® ForceWare™ Graphics Driver: NVIDIA‘s latest graphics and video driver implements advanced video enhancements and optimizations for the GeForce 6 and 7 Series GPUs’ dedicated video processing core.

	Equip your desktop or notebook PC with a PureVideo compatible video CODECs and Software: PureVideo’s MPEG-2 decode acceleration and post-processing effects are available through the Microsoft DirectX VA application programming interface (API). It can be experienced with DirextX VA compatible video applications such as InterVideo WinDVD, and CyberLink PowerDVD. PureVideo’s H.264 (also known as MPEG-4 Part 10 or AVC) decode acceleration and post processing effects are available through a special application programming interface (API). The following partners have announced support of PureVideo’s H.264 decode acceleration in their applications: CyberLink PowerDVD™ with H.264 (AVC) and AAC Pack InterVideo® WinDVD® Nero® ShowTime Note: Microsoft® Windows® XP and Windows® XP Media Center Edition already contain a WMV video CODEC – No additional codec are required in order to experience PureVideo’s WMV decode acceleration.
